Office moss walls & plant walls – more than just a trend
The moss is always greener on the other side? Not necessarily! Moss walls and moss wall art have been trending for some time and are becoming increasingly popular. The natural green particularly enhances office spaces immensely. Here you will find everything you need to know about wall greenery in the office!
It is widely considered scientifically proven that plants in the office increase employee satisfaction and thus productivity. As the colour of nature, green also has a calming and relaxing effect on the human psyche. In colour symbolism, it stands for happiness and hope.
A withered ficus in the corner, however, is more likely to have the opposite effect. Logos, panels or entire walls covered with moss or plants offer a better and more contemporary alternative.
Aren't moss walls very high maintenance?
No! Sygns moss and plant products are real plants, but chemically preserved before further processing, and do not require any care. They do not need to be watered, fertilised and, since they do not regrow, they do not need to be trimmed or pruned.
Only direct contact with active heat sources such as heaters or prolonged exposure to sunlight can have a drying effect on the preserved moss and should therefore be avoided.

Is the installation of moss walls and moss panels very difficult?
Also no! We offer our mosses in two versions, both of which are quick and easy to assemble.
For larger areas or as a wall covering, the moss comes on individual MDF panels that are fixed directly to the wall.
For smaller moss panels or combination products of moss and illuminated logo (e.g. neon or illuminated letters), we have developed back panels made of aluminium or dibond with a profile frame on the back for practical hanging. This has the additional advantage that electrical accessories, such as the power supply unit of the illuminated logo including the cable, can be hidden on the back of the moss panel.
You can find detailed step-by-step instructions on how to install our moss products in our Moss Manual.
What other advantages do moss walls offer?
In addition to the general increase in well-being, green plants have been proven to have a calming effect on the human eye – a positive effect especially when working on the computer.
The preserved moss is also a good indicator of the humidity of a room, because if the air is too dry, the moss can become dry and brittle over time. Humidity that is too high or too low also has negative effects on people in the long run, so the condition of the moss wall can be a helpful indicator here.
If the moss gives a dehydrated impression, it can be treated with a humidifier. Please do not spray directly with water or steam!
Moss walls and moss pictures can also noticeably improve the acoustics of a room. The moss panels have a sound-absorbing effect and thus also make work spaces immediately more comfortable. Think of open-plan offices, for example – who likes to work in an environment with the acoustics of a waiting hall?
But entrance areas or foyers can also benefit from the sound-insulating effect and also appear much friendlier and more inviting with cleverly positioned green accents. The dense and lush Bun Moss, in particular, dampens sound efficiently and is thus particularly beneficial to room acoustics.

By the way, allergy sufferers need have no fear of moss and co: The natural products are hypoallergenic and guaranteed not to cause itchy eyes and runny noses. Dusting every now and then is advisable, however, so that even colleagues who are sensitive to dust can fully enjoy the moss wall!
What are possible uses for moss and plant walls?
Are you planning to noticeably upgrade your office, shop, or restaurant with low-maintenance wall greenery? There are (almost) no limits to your imagination!
From decorative accents such as logos or abstract shapes made of moss to a completely mossy wall surface – and why not decorate free-standing room dividers or room-dividing partitions with moss and take full advantage of the sound-absorbing properties of the fluffy plants?
Below is a (hopefully) inspiring overview of the different types of moss and their many uses:
Fern Moss
The dark green forest moss or Fern Moss is quite suitable for smaller designs or as a background for radiant illuminated lettering and logos due to its uniform and relatively flat structure.
A seating area is immediately enhanced by a mossy accent – as seen here at the Berlin headquarters of N26.
Reindeer Moss
Reindeer lichen, also known as Reindeer Moss, is actually a shrub lichen and very popular for its fluffy look.
Thanks to its high density, this type of moss can also be used in a wide variety of sizes and shapes. The preloved-furniture experts at Cocoli, for example, use this compact logo to adorn the office wall.
Our Reindeer Moss is available in several colours, which you can discover on our Moss & Plant Walls product page.
Bun Moss
Pincushion moss, pillow moss, or Bun Moss consists, as the name suggests, of spherical moss balls.
The thick "pads" have a sound-absorbing effect, which is why this type of moss is perfect for sound absorption and acoustic insulation.
Rainforest Moss
The noble Rainforest Moss impresses with its varied structure and its soft, lush look. Since it is composed of larger balls of moss, like Bun Moss, it can be used primarily for larger designs or areas.
In this Berlin McDonald's branch, a large-scale Rainforest Moss strip with an impressive LED neon logo beautifies the staircase.
Jungle Plants
Our high-quality Jungle Plants are a mixture of fluffy mosses and leaves of ferns and other tropical plants in various sizes.
As opulent wall coverings, the wild plants bring out bright logos and lettering especially well. Clean beauty brand No Cosmetics skillfully showcases this motivating slogan in its flagship store in Berlin-Mitte.
