Ambiente Messe Frankfurt
Ambiente is the self-proclaimed “world’s most important consumer goods trade fair” (per their website), and they might be right: Already deemed at the very least the largest consumer goods trade fair outside of Asia, the Frankfurt institution is partnering with its "siblings" Christmasworld and Creativeworld for the first time this year.
After cancellation in 2022 due to pandemic restrictions, the triple-threat trade shows are ready to welcome over 4.500 exhibitors from more than 160 countries on the Frankfurt fairgrounds – 350.000 m² exhibition space, including the newly built Hall 5.
Exhibitors & products at Ambiente 2023
With a total of 4.561 exhibitors, the vast fairgrounds are fully booked this year. 86% of the exhibitors are international – a new record quota for the trade fair that underlines its global aspect.
A key aspect of the 2023 happenings is going to be sustainability. An independent jury has awarded 305 exhibitors with the label “Ethical Style” for products that fit one of the categories Eco-Friendly Material, Eco-Optimised Production, Fair & Social Production, Re-/Upcycling Design, Handmade Manufacturing and Sustainable Innovation. These products will be showcased in dedicated presentation spots around the trade show halls.
Ambiente is traditionally divided into four main product groups, so that professional visitors can easily find and explore their area of expertise: Dining, Living, Giving and Working.

Dining: table covers and kitchen utensils
Buyers and decision makers from the hospitality industry will be happy here, as everything revolves around cooking, eating and household topics. This includes tableware and flatware, innovative kitchen gadgets and accessories, cleaning equipment and utensils, kitchen and table textiles, electrical appliances and machines, and much more.
Living: furnishings and decoration
The hotspot for interior design! Presented here are design and decoration concepts with products including furniture, lights, home textiles and lifestyle accessories from all over the world.
Neon signs are unfortunately not included, as far as we know, but you best get those at Sygns anyways.
Giving: gift ideas
This cutting-edge sector showcases the newest gift article trends with a broad range of products – from decorative accessories and souvenirs to greeting cards and stationery to bags and school supplies.
Working: home office and home & office
Remote and hybrid work concepts have been a hot topic since the start of the COVID pandemic, so it’s not surprising that “Working” was conceived as a new main area for this year’s Ambiente.
Specifically targeting high-volume commercial buyers, this section will present exciting solutions for work spaces and showcase product groups such as office supplies and equipment, furnishings and furniture, office lights and lighting, or printing products and technology. Everything to get your business ready for “the desk of the future”!
Digital pre-events
As a kick-off to this year’s event, visitor tickets and exhibitor passes include a series of online-only keynote presentations followed by short Q&A sessions with the show directors of Ambiente, Christmasworld and Creativeworld.
The 2023 keynote speakers are:
-
24.01.23: consumer & shopper behaviouralist Ken Hughes on the question “Is your Business ready for the Consumer of Tomorrow?”
- 26.01.23: Theresa Schleicher from Zukunftsinstitut on the topic “New Retaility: the new retail economy in 2030”
- 30.01.23: Sanjay Sauldie, CEO of rednerheld, on the topic “Consumption 4.0: Surviving the ‘Never normal’ and shaping the ‘Always Different’”
Additionally, the organisers provide a “Digital Extension” online platform that is available for participants before, during and after the trade fair to facilitate scheduling and networking and make your visit a valuable experience both live and digitally.
Ambiente events & themes
Next to the above-mentioned topics sustainability and “Ethical Style”, the main themes of the 2023 trade fair include lifestyle & design, new work and digital expansion & future retail. These themes will be explored in various conferences, lectures, and presentations by experts from all around the world.
Additional highlights include presentations of prize-winning products that were awarded with this year’s German Design Award, the Hesse State Prize and the Kitchen Innovation Award.
